The article examines how English playwright, poet and translator Christopher Marlowe attaches two figures from classical mythology, Aeneas and Actaeon. Marlowe is said to have connected these two ostensibly figure in such a way that the one is used critically to examine the other. Aeneas, was central to England's image of both its past and future, whereas Actaeon is commonly interpreted as a tale of forbidden knowledge.
