- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 29-year-old man with worsening peripheral oedema. The patient was diagnosed with right atrial dilation through transthoracic echocardiography in 1990, and cardiac catheterisation in 2000, wherein a gradient of eight millimetres of mercury between the left ventricle and right atrium in end-diastole were found. The man was considered for single lung and heart transplant in 2002 but he was managed conservatively due to a relative lack of symptoms.
