- Title
INDIAN SECULARISM AND SUBSIDY FOR RELIGIOUS POPULISM: A CRITICAL APPRAISAL.
- Authors
Singh, Rakesh Kr
- Abstract
The article focuses on the plan of the Indian government to provide subsidies travel for Christian pilgrims who wanted to visit holy sites in Israel. It states that the plan might cause conflict and might affect India's secular credentials because the government has previously rejected the same privilege for Muslim pilgrims. It analyzes that the government must refrain from privileging any religion over another in order to retain its identity as a secular country.
