- Abstract
The article examines whether death penalty should remain as the capital punishment in India. Accordingly, it discusses the changes on the kind of offenses that are subject for death penalty and the various impositions of death penalty including the hanging of the head of the accused. It then explores the worsening conditions of the peace and order in India which lead to the conclusion that it is necessary to retain the death penalty in order to maintain the law and order in the country.
