- Abstract
The article describes a case of an 80-year-old man who was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) for severe hyperthyroidism with coma. The patient was treated with amiodarone for one month prior to admission and has a worst neurological state with a Glasgow coma of 8. His clinical examination shows atrial flutter, dyspnea, and hyperthemia. The type II amiodarone-induced hyperthyroidism (AIT) in apathetic form with coma and cardiothyreosis is also discussed.
