- Title
Theophanes of Nicea's Five Orations on the Light of Tabor: Palamite or Thomistic Influence on His Theology?
- Authors
Toulis, Petros
- Abstract
The article examines Theophanes of Nicea's "Five Orations on the Light of Tabor" and his teachings on the basis of deification. In the first oration, Theophanes declared the double method of the knowledge and the way of true theology to explain why Jesus Christ allowed Judas to join Him in the Last Supper but not in Mount Tabor. He states in his second oration that the divine grace of the Holy Spirit is one and undivided, but each person participates in this grace according to degree of purity.
