- Abstract
In this paper, the development process of philosophy as a domain of science in science history and especially its position in Turkish educational systematic are emphasized. In this context, philosophical dimension of educational systems, undeniable relationship of philosophy with education, resolution/conflict problematic in the relationship between science and philosophy in philosophy history are multidimensionality looked over. Moreover, some points are comparatively stressed such as the necessary historical process of philosophy in the West and the stages it underwent as a teaching area in the Ottoman and early Republican Period, the positions of philosophy it has gained and lost as a lesson in general educational movements from 1933 University Reform in Republican Period on, and current program-content problems.
