The article focuses on mitigation of compensation for condemned property in relation to partial takings along the coast in the U.S. Topics discussed include the historical origins of the fair market value approach related with partial takings, case Borough of Harvey Cedars v. Karan that addressed the use of fair market approach of just compensation associated with condemned property and jurisdictions using the fair market value analysis.
