- Abstract
The article focuses on history of divorce reforms and judicial practices involving the division of marital property for the benefits of women in the U.S. It further expands on the role of women, both feminists and antifeminists, in revolutionizing the law of marital property in the U.S. in relation to Equal Rights Amendment and gender discrimination. It also discusses defects in current marital-property rules and discusses marital-property laws by analyzing three case studies from Virginia, Connecticut and New York.
