The article profiles Tony Conner, senior scientist at the New Zealand Institute for Crop & Food Research in Christchurch, New Zealand. According to the author, Conner's interest in plant sciences and ecology have sparked during a summer job conducting botanical surveys for the New Zealand Forest Service. He added that Conner has earned his BS in botany in 1978 at the University of Catenury and a PhD in genetics in 1985 at the University of California. Moreover, Conner developed an approach of modifying plants using only genes and labaled it as 'intragenics.'
