- Title
CLEAN SLATE: EXPANDING EXPUNGEMENTS AND PARDONS FOR NON-VIOLENT FEDERAL OFFENDERS.
- Authors
Silva, Lahny R.
- Abstract
The article discusses the expansion of judicial expungement of criminal convictions and federal pardons for non-violent offenders in the U.S. It examines the law regulating such expungement of criminal convictions and argues that eliminating post-conviction disabilities could be multifaceted and politically unfeasible. It proposes that the country's Sentencing Commission (SC) must create a Second Chance Advisory Group to establish best ways to reorganize the consequences of federal convictions.
