- Abstract
The article presents the methods used for the annotated spreads of the novel "The Arrival," by Shaun Tan and its significance in understanding how pupils establish meaning through visual images. It points out that the methods involve the selection of an image from every book and annotating them along with questions and comments. It finds out that the annotated spread can be used as an effective tool for data gathering. It notes the success of the annotation due to the involvement of the ability of pupils to read images.
