- Title
Justice Sutherland Reconsidered.
- Authors
Olken, Samuel R.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the reputation of George Sutherland as Supreme Court Justice in the U.S. It notes that Sutherland has been an intellectual leader in protest to the Supreme Court's change in the law of economic liberty in 1930s, which gives Sutherland a failed reputation as Supreme Court Justice. Moreover, the disbelief of Sutherland to public rule of private economic matters and to political fractions comes from his dedication to have equal operation of law. It emphasizes that the progressive opinion of Sutherland towards criminal procedure and business of expression is dominated by his views regarding economic liberty.
