- Title
Interview Guidelines.
- Abstract
The article presents an outline that historians can use when conducting oral histories with interviewees. It is noted that the guidelines were created specifically for people who worked as forced labourers in Germany under the Nazi regime. The guidelines include information to help interviewers "activate" the memories of the interviewees. Suggestions are presented for ways that interviewees can be located using, for example, the mass media. Details are also given about the attitudes that interviewers should adopt during the interviews, the sorts of questions that should be asked, and techniques for conducting the interviews.
