- Abstract
Reports on a study to test whether the outwardly decreasing cation concentration profiles of edunculate oak (Quercus robur L.) and European beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) in a mixed forest stand in the Belgian Ardennes can be ascribed to endogenous factors or to decreased availability of cations in the soil. Determination of radial profiles of water-soluble, exchangeable, and total cations and of cation exchange capacity (CEC) of wood; Findings for both species; Conclusions.
