The article focuses on issues involving involuntary removal of children from parental custody and efforts of U.S states to support parents and children seeking reunification. Topics discusses include the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA) enacted in 1974, the Adoption and Safe Families Act of 1997 and the condition of children and parents denied of equality of treatment when children are involuntarily removed.
