- Abstract
The article focuses on the mortality of patients with lung cancer in the U.S. Indications showed that lung cancer continues to be the most common cause of cancer deaths for both men and women around the nation. Unfortunately, the majority of patients present with local or distant disease at the time of diagnosis. Surgical resection continues to offer the best chance for long-term survival. A major concern among oncologists is to determine whether when to administer chemotherapy in relation to surgical intervention.
