- Abstract
The article describes the case of a 32-year old male who was diagnosed with vertebral artery (VA) thrombosis in traumatic atlanto-axial dislocation (AAD). The results of the patient's x-ray craniovertebral junction, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and CT-angiography are presented. Also discussed are the potential of traumatic AAD to cause injury to the V3 segment, the advantage of performing preoperative CT-angiogram, and the intraoperative management of VA.
