The authors discuss research on policy interventions that have the potential to reduce the incidence, morbidity, or mortality of HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, sexually-transmitted diseases, and tuberculosis. Highlights include a mapping study of state syringe services program laws, examples of modeling techniques for predicting the population health impacts of policy innovations, and the effects and cost-effectiveness of immigrant detainee screening.
