- Title
La flora simbólica en los autos sacramentales de Calderón.
- Authors
Arellano, Ignacio
- Abstract
This article studies symbolic flora in Calderón's autos; through the emblematic and allegorical language found in those plays, it is made possible that vegetable variety refers to main characters' defeats and success. By means of several plants qualities (real or ascribed), the history of salvation and the role of Eucharistic sacrament during that process can be expressed. Moreover, the analysis goes over many aspects of this symbolic use, which is put before witty skills from conceptism along with biblical and patristic intertextuality.
