- Abstract
The article focuses on the risk of potential traumatization among the physicians and physicians in training because of patient deaths. Topics discussed include need of a standard method for teaching empathy to physician trainees, measuring empathy through interpersonal reactivity index (IRI) and measuring posttraumatic stress disorder by the revised version of the Impact of Event Scale (IES‐R).
