- Authors
Grandi, Roberta
- Abstract
The article argues that the attribution of nineteenth-century English playwright and actor should be Joseph Halford. Halford wrote several burlesque plays including the the 1854 "Faust and Marguerite" performed at the Strand Theatre in London, England as well as the 1855 "King Queer and his Daughters Three." Local periodicals and newspapers including "Lloyd’s Weekly London Newspaper" reported that Halford was a notable mimic of actor Charles Kean.
