- Abstract
The use of special methods of surveillance and research is not a social novelty, considering the fact that both technology and crime have a long existence. It should also be noted that the dynamics of the regulation of these institutions is themed on two premises, the first of which is represented, as was normal, by the ratification of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (Council of Europe, 1950), and the second is that of constant technological evolution. In relation to this last aspect, the doctrine rightly considered that "the technical means of surveillance will always be one step ahead of the legislation" (Grădinaru, 2014, p. 7).
