- Abstract
Through comparison and analysis of the terms of code for design protection against lightning between overhead contact line system of high speed railway and overhead electrical power transmission line, the "empirical method" is used to calculate key technical parameters and indexes of the high-speed railway such as earth wire and the additive conductor sag, ground lightning frequency, coupling coefficient, arc establishing rate, shielding failure rate, shunt coefficient, lightning withstand level and lightning trip-out rate, and to evaluate the efficiency of relevant measures to reduce lightning trip-out rate of high speed railway. It is found that the insulation level and lightning withstand level of overhead contact line system with ground wire are similar to 66 kV overhead electrical power transmission line, and the lightning trip-out rate of overhead contact line system can be significantly reduced by referring to the shielding angle of 66 kV overhead electrical power transmission line. In the mountainous area with high earth resistivity, it is more economical and reasonable to improve lightning withstand level by improving local insulation level and setting up line lighting arrester, rather than reducing randomly the ground resistance. At the same time, it is suggested that the erection height of overhead ground wires should meet the requirement that the distance between two ground wires should not exceed 5 times of the vertical distance between the ground wires and negative feeder so as to ensure effective protection of contact line by overhead ground wires.
