- Title
ESTATISMO Y NEOLIBERALISMO: UN CONTRAPUNTO MILITAR CHILE 1973-1979.
- Authors
Valdivia Ortiz de Zárate, Verónica
- Abstract
Analyzes the installation in Chile of a neoliberal model during the military regime headed by General Augusto Pinochet between 1973 and 1979. Within this context, a reinterpretation is offered of the allegedly foundational character of that government, its supposed early adherence to the neoliberal matrix, and its break with Keynesian capitalism, which had prevailed since the 1930's. The analysis is focused on the evolution of the military with regard to the links between the state and development and on the debate between neoliberalism and statism that was carried out within the armed forces.
