- Abstract
Cameras based on the 1394b interface have been widely used. In this paper, we designed a real-time image acquisition and display system based on FPGA, which can directly display the camera's image on a LCD screen. The developed device, that we designed, is not the traditional form of camera image acquisition but customised, miniaturised, portable and programmable. In this article, we describe in details the system architecture of the device. A VerilogHDL hardware description language is applied in FPGA programming, which are under the Quartus 12 development platform. The experiments show that the embedded system can complete the acquisition on real-time display of the 1394b interface camera. The system is mainly used for image acquisition and display, which required real-time, stability, miniaturisation, and other special scenes.
