Acquaintance with and Use of Referral Sources By Iowa Secondary School Counselors.
- Authors
Hoyt, Kenneth B.; Loughary, John W.
- Abstract
The article presents a study concerning referral sources used by school counselors in their attempt to perform effectively in a high school setting in Iowa. According to the study, school counselor is responsible to devote a major portion of his time to the normal student presenting normal problems, and that he should be concerned with every student in the school. The study has noted that in view of the expected need and opportunity to refer students in non-metropolitan high schools, it does not seem that the school counselors are making very good use of referral sources available to them.
