CHRONIC PAIN: REPLICATED MULTIVARIATE CLUSTERING OF PERSONALITY PROFILES.
- Authors
Hart, Ronald R.
- Abstract
This article cites a study in Loma Linda, California that attempted to: 1) replicate the personality subgroupings of previous investigations into chronic pain; 2) assess the applicability of developing such subgroupings for both males and females; and, 3) analyze the resulting personality profiles by means of a computer-generated actuarial narrative. The study analyzed the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory profiles of 70 male chronic pain patients into four homogeneous subgroups. Mean composites for each subgrouping were entered into a PDP 11 computer to generate an objective actuarial narrative description.
