- Title
LONG-TERM NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL DEFICITS AFTER TRAUMATIC HEAD INJURY WITH COMATOSIS.
- Authors
Dye, Omar A.; Saxon, Samuel A.; Milby, Jesse H.
- Abstract
The article cites a study where methods outlined by researcher R.M. Reitan were utilized to study neuropsychological performance subsequent to head injury with comatosis. Reitan showed that the Halstead-Reitan Battery is a valid battery of tests for detecting brain damage. The Halstead-Reitan Battery has been used to study traumatic head injuries, but comatosis was not the major variable. Researchers of the study concluded that the Halstead-Reitan Battery was sensitive to long-term deficits that resulted from head injury. They added that results of the study were consistent with the neurological literature.
