- Abstract
This paper discusses the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) model as a tool in the provision of vocational rehabilitation services to adults with acquired brain injuries (ABI). The ICF is a powerful tool for assessing the func-tioning of adults with ABI, designing rehabilitation interventions, and tracking client prog-ress. This paper discusses how the ICF will facilitate the rehabilitation process in five broad areas: (a) identifying and assessing the effects of ABI, (b) designing interventions, (c) facili-tating best practices, (d) implementing program evaluation, and (e) acting as catalyst for re-search.
