- Title
A COMPARISON OF FORMALLY AND INFORMALLY TRAINED JOURNEYMEN IN CONSTRUCTION.
- Authors
Franklin, William S.
- Abstract
The article presents a comparison of formally and informally trained journeymen in construction industry. The benefits of including only formally trained craftsman in a union are discussed, as well as the benefits of widening union influence by drawing from informally trained workers. A comparison is presented of the hours that Journeymen and other workers were able to gain employment in order to test the hypothesis that Journeymen training provides workers with more comprehensive, thus more desirable, work skills.
