- Abstract
Fully polarized radar is the development direction of a new generation of insect radar. This paper introduces the inversion method of biological parameters such as the axis orientation, weight and body length of insects using the fully polarized radar. Compared with traditional methods, these methods have higher accuracy. However, these methods have only been verified by microwave anechoic chamber measurement of insect data, and have not been verified by actual full-polarization radar field measurements. In this paper, the Ku-band fully polarized insect radar was used to design and carry out an outfield quantitative experiment based on dual drones to coordinate flying suspended insects. The radar data of 44 insects of different sizes in different orientations were measured. Based on the measured data, it was successfully verified. The application of the insect biological parameter retrieval method for the fully polarized radar in the actual field radar is analyzed, and the measurement accuracy is analyzed.
