- Abstract
Grid voltage frequency information is essential for power system control and protection. However, a number of frequency detecting methods are confronted with slow response and low precision issues under non-ideal grid conditions. To address such a problem,a method based on multi-step digital signal filter technology,i. e. cascaded delayed signal cancellation ( CDSC) , is proposed. The fundamental positive sequence component was separated from the original input voltage in stationary αβ reference frame. With amplitude normalization,a frequency detection method using differential and square root operation was applied. The attenuation and dynamic performance of multistep αβCDSC was compared in detail. The proposed approach was verified by numerical simulation and experimental results, indicating that it works effectively under all kinds of non-ideal grid conditions. The advantages of the proposed method consisting of strong adaptability, small computational burden and fixed dynamic delay contributes to its real time implementation with embedded digital signal processor. The maximum steady-state detect error is less than 0. 05 Hz.
