- Abstract
The article offers information on the Scutum the Shield, fifth smallest constellation among the 88 constellation, named by astronomer Johannes Hevelius in 1683. It mentions scutum contain several open clusters, global cluster and diffuse nebulae. It also discusses the globular cluster NGC 6712 and the planetary nebulae IC 1295 found in the eastern part of the constellation and the well known deep sky objects in scutum are the open cluster M26 (NGC 6694) and M11 (NGC 6705).
