- Abstract
Presents the results of a study that characterized cystathionine gamma-lyase in the liver of rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss. Finding that mammalian cystathionine is inhibited by propargylglycine and cysteine in irreversible and competitive inhibition manners, respectively; Data indicating that cystathionine activity in the liver of rainbow trout is not only lower than that of the mouse but also susceptible to inhibition by cysteine; Recommendation of further studies to clarify the capacity and pathway of cysteine biosynthesis in this fish.
