NIEMI, JR., ALBERT W.
- Abstract
The article presents research rankings which shows leading institutional contributors to the finance literature during the decade of 1975-1986. Comparisons with earlier studies indicate that there has been a major restructuring of leading centers of finance research and that the gap between the top ten programs and the next twenty to thirty programs has been shrinking over time. This broadening of the research base across academic and research institutions signifies the maturation that has taken place in higher education. Many universities have taken steps to improve their research performance, and this change in orientation is evident in the research rankings.
