- Abstract
The article reports on a study which investigated Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) in Bactrian camel herds in Mongolia. Topics discussed include the first identification of the disease among humans, seroepidemiologic and virologic studies that demonstrated evidence of MERS-CoV infection in dromedary camels and the epidemiology of MERS-CoV infection in camels from Asia and China.
