- Abstract
The article presents a study which aims to determine whether brain displacement of fetuses with spina bifida is evident from the first trimester of pregnancy by ultrasound examination. Researcher in this study uses women undergoing routine ultrasound examination at 11-13-week gestation. The study finds that the mid-sagittal view of the face as routinely used in screening for defects can also be used for early detection of open spina bifida.
