- Abstract
The International Transactions in Operational Research (ITOR) journal will be publishing a special issue on "Optimizing Port and Maritime Logistics: Advances for Sustainable and Efficient Operations" in conjunction with the 33rd European Conference on Operational Research (EURO 2024) in Copenhagen, Denmark. The special issue aims to address the challenges faced by the maritime sector, such as coordinating shipping routes, handling diverse cargo flows, and minimizing delays. It emphasizes the importance of optimizing port operations to ensure smooth cargo flows and reduce congestion, as well as adopting greener practices to minimize the environmental impact of maritime shipping and port operations. The special issue welcomes innovative studies that contribute to the existing knowledge in this field, with a focus on theoretical concepts, methodological approaches, and practical applications. The deadline for submissions is November 30, 2024.
