- Title
Performance-Based Nonqualified Retirement Plans: Creating Value in Mergers and Acquisitions.
- Authors
Peterson, Philip A.
- Abstract
This article looks at the process of developing performance-based nonqualified retirement plans and evaluating their potential as incentive tools for valued executives in newly acquired companies. Key among the factors that determine the success of a merger or acquisition is the cooperation and expertise of the management team for the acquired business. Providing incentives to this team with a reward package for management pegged to some benchmark logically increases performance.
