- Abstract
Mesoporous nanosized TiO2 films modified with Co2+, Ni2+, Mn3+ and Cu2+ ions have been produced by templated sol-gel method and characterized by optical spectroscopy, ellipsometry and XRD. Catalytic activity of prepared films in the Cr(VI) anion photoreduction and in the oxygen electroreduction have been tested. Improvement of photocatalytic ativity in comparison with unmodified TiO2 has been observed for systems with dopant concentration of 1-7 % (depending on the metal). 1 % content for all dopants has been found to be optimum in the process of oxygen electroreduction. Synthesized coverings can be used as effective photocatalysts and sensor elements.
