- Abstract
The article presents a transcriptional analysis of the accumulation of 5-oxoproline in myocardial dysfunction or heart failure (HF) and the protective effects of OPLAH gene that encode 5-oxoprolinase. It mentions that OPLAH depletion results from cardiac injury and lead to oxidative stress and elevated 5-oxoproline, while OPLAH overexpression helped improve cardiac function following ischemic injury.
