- Abstract
The author reflects on the relevance and effectiveness of bedside teaching rounds as practiced by Sir William Osler. He cites several barriers to bedside teaching during Osler's time which include inadequate teaching time and dependence of diagnosis on technology. He enumerates several reasons for continuing bedside teaching such as enhancing the relationship between patients and trainees. He also recommends ways to address the challenges of bedside teaching.
