- Title
DANGERS OF BANNING SPICE AND THE SYNTHETIC CANNABINOID AGONISTS.
- Authors
HAMMERSLEY, RICHARD
- Abstract
The article discusses the peril of banning spice and the synthetic cannabinoid agonists. It mentions that due to the use of spice and similar products comprising herbal mixture sprayed with synthetic cannabinoid agonists, the Great Britain Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD) and other countries are proposing that synthetic cannabinoids should become controlled drugs. It notes however that the ban will make the herbal market more dangerous and not safer due to reasons including that spice smokers who may be smoking them as a substitute for cannabis will shift back to illegal cannabis and can give rise to the use of more dangerous chemicals that are not yet banned.
