- Title
Conflict of Interest in Peer-Reviewed Medical Journals: The World Association of Medical Editors Position on a Challenging Problem.
- Authors
Ferris, L.E.; Fletcher, R.H.
- Abstract
The authors reflect on medical journal conflicts of interests. The authors say that conflicts of interests happen when private interests competes with the responsibilities of an individual to the scientific community. They cite the updated policy released by the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) which details the issues that need to be addressed by journals. They also note that conflicts of interest will not all be removed but can be managed through full disclosure of interests.
