- Abstract
Introduction: This research project stems from o training experience in the Master of Science in Nursing Core of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) which aims to expand professional skills In the field of advanced nursing practice. The goal is to prepare professionals who reach o high level of competence in clinical practice to face the challenges of the health system, characterized by complexity, chronicity and multimorbidity. The nurse's ability to improve the quality of core depends on the development of clinical reasoning and critical thinking skills essential to the decision-making process. Both of these concepts describe the process that nurses carry out in making the best choices for their patients. It is crucial to optimize the development of these skills through specific teaching strategies. In this paper, we present the research protocol of o scoping review, to detect studies in the literature relating to the best teaching strategies about clinical reasoning. Methods and analysis: This scoping review will follow the Arksey and O'Malley framework, with the support of the Preferred Reporting items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis - Scoping Reviews guidelines of the Joanna Briggs institute. We will conduct the literature review in PubMed, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, Scopus and OVID, considering only the publications of the last five years, related to the English, Italian, French and German language. According to specific inclusion criteria, three authors will independently evaluate the articles for titles, abstracts and full-text. We will report the results in narrative form and through the support of graphs and tables. Results dissemination: this review will provide a current and comprehensive view of the most effective teaching strategies for the development of clinical reasoning in advanced clinical practice. We will share collected data with the scientific and professional community.
