The authors discuss trends in literary criticism and publishing in the U.S. since 1945. They mention the focus of criticism through the philosophies of neoliberalism and mediation, the role of literary aesthetics, and present a history of the various stages of the publishing industry in the U.S. as well as an introduction to the articles in the issue.
