- Abstract
The author discusses his methodology in teaching American legal history and the importance of context in his approach. He argues that studying the connections between law and society can assist law students in recognizing the influence upon legal institutions and broader society they might have as practicing attorneys. The author discusses the structure of his class, particularly concerning the agency of U.S. Supreme Court justices.
