- Abstract
This study took the typical Carex marshes in Changbai Mountain as the object, and analyzed the plant species diversity of densely clumped Carex (carex saccharum, Ulagrass) marshes and sparse Carex (carex lasiorrhiza) marshes. The results showed that there are 83 species in 3 Carex marsh plant communities, belonging to 36 families and 59 genera. Among them, there are 71 species in Ulagrass marshes, 61 species in Carex tumorous marshes, and 26 species in Carex lasiocarpa marshes. The number of species and species richness of densely clustered Carex marshes are significantly higher than those of sparsely clustered Carex marshes, and the species number and species richness of the densely clustered Carex marshes are significantly higher than those in the inter-mound position. The species richness of the grass mound is significantly positively correlated with the height, base area and surface area of the grass mound, indicating that the grass mound plays an important role in maintaining the species diversity of Carex marsh. The canonical correspondence analysis shows that the difference in moisture, nutrients (organic carbon, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, carbon to nitrogen ratio) and litter thickness between grass mounds and mounds are the main environmental factors that affect species composition. In densely clustered Carex swamps, the micro-topography of grass mounds mainly promotes the maintenance of marsh plant species diversity by increasing the surface area and habitat heterogeneity. In view of its high species diversity maintenance function, Carex dense clumps can be used as the preferred species for vegetation restoration in degraded peat swamps.
