- Abstract
The article discusses a study which examined the preparation of poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT) nanocomposites containing organically modified montmorillonites using in-situ ring opening polymerization of PBT cyclic oligomers. It notes that choosing proper polymerization conditions and catalyst in short time of polymerization can lead to high molecular weight polymers. Results of the study showed better dispersion of the clay and higher molecular weight obtained through the use of the method.
